about

Bay View Managing Editor Nube Brown reads aloud a poem by Robert Jones. Robert Jones is a prisoner at the notorious Pelican Bay State Prison. Robert is caged and admittedly indigent, yet he writes to us here at the Bay View with well wishes for our health and keeping us in his highest regards.

And with humility and clarity he asks that the poem “His Last Words” be published in the paper if there’s room, or the website if not.
Like all of the hundreds of letters that we receive monthly from people considered “just criminals” and “the worst of the worst,” Robert signs off with gratitude and heart- “sincerely and respectfully, Robert Jones.”
